“Trauma” is the last song on the record. It is the oldest of all songs. It was the most raw and automatic reaction to the break-up. “Trauma” is a story told by an inner voice, persuading to take dangerous and drastic actions. “Not feeling well in the relationship? Just end it and all your problems will be solved!” is the message. This statement is bluntly ironic of course. Each such decision is a trade of one set of issues for another. And each new set of issues is a cat in the bag that is impossible to anticipate. “Trauma” is the last song on the record because it doesn’t have such obvious hooks as “Honesty” and “Celery”. And thus it demands more patience and attention from the listener. The style of this composition is heavily influenced by Karnivool. More specifically by the songs “Simple Boy” and “Aeons”, where electric guitars are used as effects rather than lead instruments. Oftentimes left and right rhythm guitars only play parts of a melody, creating a jigsaw puzzle that is a bit tricky to comprehend and even more difficult to perform.
