“Celery” is the first single from “That Way Lies Madness”. Released along with the music video produced by Alex and Anastasiią Zazuliak. A part of the music video was filmed in the New Horizons movie theater in Wroclaw. “Celery” is a story of a relationship trapped in controlling patterns. Despite its heavy sound, the song tries to seek empathy, instead of judging the “controlling” party. It’s an attempt to show how blurred personal boundaries can become, how the best of intentions pave the road to hell. How lack of self-awareness is more dangerous than a lack of communication. “Celery” seeks compassion rather than searching for the guilty. The name of the song comes from a task-scheduling framework for the Python programming language. Alex was spending a lot of time learning it while writing riffs for the song. And thus the name “Celery” has made its way from a work title to the name of the most hard-hitting prog song on the album.
